Who am I ?

In my desire to grow stronger in my walk with the Lord I am reading a book called Victory over the Darkness by Neil Anderson. It is a good book, a little dated I think the copyright is 1990, however it is addressing things that I haven't thought much about in my walk. It talks about how important it is to know who you are. Not what you do or what you look like, where you live, what type of person you are, but who you are in God's eyes. He recommends writing down what the Bible says you are. So I am going to put it here.
I am the salt of the earth -Matt. 5:13

I am part of the true vine, a channel of Christ's life -John 15:1,5
I am Christ's friend -John 15:15
I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit -John 15:16

I am a son of God; God is spiritually my Father Rom 8:14,15; Gal 3:26;4:6
I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance with Him Rom 8:17
I am a temple --a dwelling place -- of God. His Spirit and His life dwells in me -1Cor 3:16;6:19
I am united to the Lord and am one spirit with Him - Rom 6:17
I am a member of Christ's body -1Cor 12:27;Eph 5:30

I am reconciled to God and am a minister of reconciliation -2 Cor 5:18,19
I am a son of God and one in Christ - Gal 3:26,28
I am an heir of God since I am a son of God -Gal 4:6,7

I am not the great "I am" but by the grace of God, I am what I am -Exod 3:14; John8:24,28,58 and 1Cor 15:10

You would think after reading this a person would either reject it or become arrogant by it, however understanding what he says in the book a person needs this sense of belonging. As a Christian, I need to know who I am in Christ. I will search for belonging somewhere. It would be better to start out, knowing where God says I belong than to search all over the planet only to come back to where I should have started. All I need is Him. He has shown me how much he loves me by putting me back in a right relationship with him, becasue I am cleansed through Christ, I am able to come to the Father, the Almighty God , who says I am a friend of his. I should then strive to be more about Him and his business of loving others than to be about my own business that will really not meet my needs anyway. Self fulfillment is shallow. Serving others is deep.
